How To Be A Leader / Leadership
Naturally if you read the notes below, you may of course gain some benefit of knowledge, but next time, do not miss such an amazing training, as mentioned in the notes below that I obtained from the training: "Success comes to those who spend more time with other successful people", so of course its better to come and learn directly from a Millionaire who has gone through many of th obstacles............so below I leave most of my notes in quote form.
"Unlike Corporate methods, in Herbalife no-one can hold you back"
"In business 'speed' is a very important factor"
"Its hard to get momentum, but once you get it, you're on a roll, so it is much easier to go faster"
"The 1st step as a leader is, you need people to lead, so build a team!"
Being a leader does not mean 'mothering' & 'smothering'. You have to give your team an opportunity to grow! Don't dictate or be a little Hitler.
Its very important what you do, but equally as important is that you teach it!
If you learn about the products, you teach about the products.
If you learn about the marketing plan, you teach about the marketing plan.
You can either go and learn from making all you own mistakes, or go to the training and learn from the speaker's of the mistakes they made.
Queenie: Suffered asthma, respiratorial problems, and after 3 months on the products the doctor took her off all medication.
One day I said to Queenie, 'Leaders are going to make more money than followers, you want to be a leader?'
If you are not ready to host an HOM (Herbalife Opportunity Meeting), then get up there and tell your testimonial. Most people are inspired by the testimonials, not the host-speaker!
On the license, it says 'Independant Distributor', not 'Dependant'.
You have to have that feeling of 'I want to be independant' before you can become a great leader!
Just because you can drive a car does not mean you can teach someone else how to drive a car.
You have to learn how to teach.
You need to be a problem solver, you need to be a 'fixer'.
Mark always said: 'The bigger your problems the bigger your pay cheque', at that time he had a $25 million mansion in Beverly Hills.
Show your downline how to find solutions/answers by themselves!
Inspire People = attraction + production
Pushing them = unattractive!
To be a leader you must keep producing yourself!
Telling people how to work, how to do flyers etc = management, don't do this!
Most people move faster in the business when they knew the least. Someone who is in the business for 2 days already knows more than someone who just started, and can already share.
"Most of what I have today comes from my work in 1993 & 1994, some days I was working 16hours."
"In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king!"
Join into an office like UOA, use the STS system, learn the background, so one day you can be running your own STS's!
DO IT! Volunteering & getting involved = becoming a leader! Don't wait for someone to ask you, put your hand up!
You don't become a leader by being a 'secret-agent', you have to become VISIBLE, to be part of thje production is one way.
You're likely income is similar to that of the 10 people you spend most time with.
A person earning 20k thinks / acts / does things differently from someone earning 1k! o at STS's rub shoulder, be around them as much as possible!
3 Stages of Distributor:
1) Baby Stage (diapers): you are setting up your business, crazy active period, get a few knocks & scrapes, cry a little bit now and again! (guests no show at HOM etc)
2) Teenage Stage: People quite likely to say 'I know how to do this business, I've been to the meeting', lots of complaining but little or no activity. To be a leader, you've got to recognize that, not do the Hitler - pushing & dictating but just knowing they are in this stage & learn how to handle it / point it out.
3) Mature Stage: Lots of energy, but no more crying.
If you are a brand new distributor you're going to do a little bit of crying sooner or later!
ATTITUDE: We can show you the products / the ingredients / the follow-up / the marketing plan, (basically all the mechanics to make the business work), but we cannot show you the attitude. This is what separates the billionaires from the broke people.
Even consider some of the most brilliant graduates from Universities like Oxford, and why with all their intelligence some cannot make much money, its attitude.
When David Beckham was playing at Real Madrid, the manager at the time, Fabio Capello was so upset at the news he would move to LA Galaxy, that he benched Beckham, and all he could do was train.
Did Beckham complain, did he cry out to the newspapers, and did he really have to get back in the team with all the millions he was already making, no. David kept his head down, trained even harder than his team-mates, and thanks to attitude, Capello backed down, and took David back into the team that went on to win the Spanish League title.
A leader knows the events & promotes! And is always at each event.
In each year there are 4 big events, usually each quarter.
The more people you get there, the faster your business will grow. They get the information but also they get inspired by the 100s of stories/testimonials!
What am I going to do between now and the Spectacular? Ask yourself this question.
'I got my ticket, I'm going - you coming?'
Never rely on others! Only on yourself, you are the only person that you can control!
"Stop looking for things to be easier! Start developing your skills"
JIM ROHN
If it was easy we'd all be millionaires, that is sort of why most people give up and watch TV.
If you want to be a top footballer, you don't just read a book, you have to go out and practise.
To be a doctor or lawyer etc, you have to improve your skills, and its the exact same in Herbalife.
Have vision! Work on your own dream!
You want to become the Mark Hughes of your own village?
This affected Queenie, who was from a small village in the New Teritories, where all the villagers knew her to be Herbalife, and she was often viewed upon as the Herbalife Lady.
I never noticed Queenie in the Teenage Stage, but you must remember that back then she was holding down at least 4 different jobs, as a Journalist, a Migration Consultant, Translator and as a Distributor in another MLM comapny. Anyway one day, (years after her success) all of a sudden, she burst out on stage and described how hard it had been, she had received a lot of rejection! But she never complained, just got on with it, she had always seemed so bubbly, it just shows, attitude has so much to do with how successful you want to be.
If you want to shoot high - hold on!
If you are prepared to put your heart & soul into it, whether its 6 to 7 hours or even over 50 hours per week, then you will be mroe successful.
Ask your downline 'How can I help you to achieve your goals/vision'
Leaders = confident and not arrogant.
At the end of the day your team will decide whether you are a leader. You can only aspire to be a leader!
You are there to support & guide, NOT to do it for them!
Earn people's trust - through integrity (don't be dodgy)
Be positive (don't show downlines what they dont need to see), we all have off days!
Don't be too excited when things up & don't be too depressed when things go down - remain level.
Be a visionary, imagine things you can have later!
And back it up with work.
You don't have to push yourself too hard if you have the 'vision'.
Mirroring people: can be a sideline or up upline, I mirrored John Pederson who always work a black lapelled suit, so I bought and always wore a black lapelled suit, the same as John's. As Mark wore his button always on the right, John mirrored Mark, so Craig also wore the button on the right.
Watch Personal Development video's, read the books, listen to the audio casettes. Freddy reads over 10 pages everynight before sleeping.
